The Referee Code of Conduct for California Unified Taekwondo Association (CUTA), in connection and reference with USA Taekwondo (USAT) Referee Code of Conduct.
The Code is for all referees to fully abide by when participating in any and all CUTA Taekwondo sanctioned event(s). Failure to comply with the following guidelines can result in the removal from an event, dismissal from future CUTA sanctioned events, and/or the complete suspension from participation as a referee in future CUTA sanctioned events.
- As a Referee, I will enforce the current Competition Rules in a fair and impartial manner, showing no favoritism to one competitor over another competitor.
- Competitor safety is of the utmost concern as I perform my duties as Referee.
- I will conduct myself as a professional in all of my actions during a competition event.
- I will not fraternize with athletes and/or coaches to the detriment of maintaining the appearance of fairness and lack of bias to all who may see me.
- I will not accept favors of any kind in return for my actions as a Referee.
- I will maintain proper physical conditioning in order to be able to perform my duties and responsibilities as a Referee.
- I will accept critiques from supervisors in order to improve my abilities as a Referee.
- I am an ambassador for Taekwondo and, as such, I must perform my duties in a firm and professional manner, using tact and diplomacy as needed.
- I will abide all decisions made by the Referee Chairperson(s).
- I will perform all duties as assigned to me by the Referee Chairperson(s) to the best of my ability.
- My personal interest shall not interfere with my duty as a selected Referee.
- I will be on time for all meeting and scheduled events.
- I will not leave the competition, meetings, or scheduled events until the Referee Chairperson(s) has dismissed me.
